We were tasked with looking at the images below and guessing what they are trying to communicate. See my comments below each image. In addition, we were challenged to create an image of our own, which is posted as the last image.
It is the word “bottle” and the word is spun around, so this must refer to the game called “spin the bottle”.
Even though this word is misspelled, most likely everyone read it as emotions. Mixing the letters probably refers to “mixed emotions”.
The word “fast” is broken in two. This one seemed tricky. Saying those two words out loud helps, “fast break” or “break fast”. This is either related to speed, going so fast you need to break, or if I take it even further, it could mean breakfast. When we have breakfast we are actually breaking a “fast” since we are not eating during the night.
The word “an” is inside the word “job”. An inside job. Ha.
After a few of these, it is easier to recognise the pattern. We need to be looking at the placements of the words in order to figure out the meaning. In this case “cover” is written under “cop”. Cop under cover = undercover cop.
This was strange to me at first and I really had to stretch my thinking. It’s a lot of Cs or “seas”. It didn’t occur to me to count the number of letters at first, but it’s 7 Cs = Seven Seas.
On this one, it’s not about the placement of the words, but the placement of the letters. Because ‘step’ spelled backwards is ‘pets’, I had to see beyond the word “pets” rather than trying to make sense of it. Once I noticed this, I had to find the right words to describe the spelling of ‘step’. So if ‘pets’ is step spelled backwards, then step is spelled “forward”? = two steps forward one step back
I don’t have a clue about this one other than that each animal represents something which is equal to something. Maybe it is a value or it could be trickier, but I don’t get the special meaning behind it. So, I will try math, and I suck at math. Nonetheless, I can tell that the donkey is worth the most and the chicken is worth more than the sheep.
(1st row) D – S = 2C so then D = 2C + S
(2nd row) D = C + 3S
So, by looking at these two, I am calculating that 2S = C
If D = 2C + S and C = 2S then D = 5S
The rows list each animal only once so the result on the third row should probably be in sheep. 😀 In that case,
D + C = 5S + 2S = 7S…so seven sheep.
These look like little doughnuts to me that are ready to kill. It’s a serious doughnut mafia. So I thought of how the word doughnut is often played with as “do not”…so it could be “do not kill”. Or, these could be little Cheerio’s cereals…in which case these are cereal killers, a.k.a. serial killers.
This one is cute, and thankfully obvious. Sleeping pills. 🙂
I like me a little “window shopping”. 🙂 In order to get this, you only need to be familiar with the phrase.
Here is what I came up with. The goal was not to be artistic. 😀 If you know the answer, feel free to comment. 🙂
Hint: It’s a well known food item for kids in America.
